“Bridgette” - Pen & Ink on illustration board - Original Size: 10” x 12” - 1985-Personal Collection:
Art techniques provide variety and depth in their appearance. This illustration was created by utilizing parallel lines on the main subject, Bridgette. The cross-hatching line technique in the background allows for contrast and embellishes the figure. I produced this illustration as a demonstration piece included in my illustration curriculum as a graphic design instructor. Bridgette was a former student that was a fashion model for an American Indian clothing line.
This piece was also exhibited at the Smithsonian-North American Indian Museum in Washington, DC, in conjunction with the “Choctaw Days” in June, 2011.
