Colored Pencil/Graphite on art paper - Original Size: 16” x 20” - 2004-Personal Collection.  .
In attending a pow-wow at Mohawk Park one summer, I photographed these images and created this montage in my illustration. I used full color on the young costumed participant as he entered the grand entry parade. The supporting cast of drummers and singers provides a visual buffer to keep your eye movement back to the focal point of the young dancerIn 2004, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma sponsored their inaugural art show to showcase Choctaw artists and craftsmen from across the country. I was honored to be accepted to that ‘first-ever’ show and received a third place award. It was also exhibited at the Smithsonian-North American Indian Museum in Washington, DC, in conjunction with “Choctaw Days” in June, 2011.
